We are a middle aged couple who enjoy good food, outdoor activities such as hiking, biking and kayaking. Other interests are travelling, photography, films and backgammon. We live on an island in the north of Bohuslän, with beautiful and diversified flora, close to a magnificent archipelago and with possibilities to buy delicious shellfish from local fishermen.
We talk English, a little bit of German and French.
We offer the following activities: •Walks and excursions in the neighbourhood, with picnic if you wish • a trip with our small boat, perhaps combined with fishing mackerel, • cooking a meal together or having Swedish traditional eleven o´clock coffee/”fika”.
Also possibilities to borrow our two bikes.
Price for activity is to be agreed with the hosts.

Our island Tjärnö is close to Sweden’s first marine national park, Kosterhavet. On Tjärnö there is a marine center with public aquarium, open lectures and activities for children. The neighbour island Saltö is a nature protected area, with marvellous pine wood and beaches with both sand and cliffs. From some of them you have wide views out on sea and archipelago.
Strömstad is the nearest town about 15 km away. It is an idyllic seaside town with many restaurants and lively shopping due to the short distance to the Norwegian border. Here you can take the ferries to Koster Islands and to Norway.
The World Heritage Tanum Rock Carvings, with museums, reconstructed bronze age farm and numerous carving sites, is also closeby.
There are a lot of other interesting places to visit, like other sights with prehistoric remains or charming old fishing villages.
The Norwegian capital Oslo can be reached by driving 150 km. In the Norwegian towns Halden and Fredrikstad, close to the border, there are old fortress and fortifications.
Our coastline is a very popular touristic area but just a few kilometres east you will find a beautiful landscape with lakes, woods and meadows. It offers you tranquillity, possibilities to walk, pick wild mushrooms and berries.
